What Dodl Notes is
Dodl Notes is a teacher-facing Chrome extension for anecdotal notes, classroom evidence review, and report preparation. It is built around quick note capture, student history, coverage review, and retrieval before reports, conferences, or support meetings.
What is encrypted
Note content is encrypted in the browser before storage or sync. The developer cannot read decrypted notes.
What still needs to be processed
Dodl Notes still needs to process account email and authentication data, settings, encrypted workspace data, optional AI prompts and responses when AI is used, support messages you send, limited billing metadata for Pro, and reliability or diagnostic data where enabled.
AI is optional
Core note capture, class and student organization, Notes Explorer, coverage review, locking, and recovery can be used without AI-supported workflows.
Google account is not required for core notes
Core note-taking uses a Dodl Notes email-and-password account. Google access is optional and related to workflows such as Google Docs export when you choose to use them.
Use local privacy expectations
Teachers can use names, initials, numbers, or local identifiers according to school, board, district, or organization expectations. Always follow your local privacy rules.
Important limits
Dodl Notes is not a substitute for required school, board, district, or regulated record systems.
Dodl Notes is not specifically certified for regulated workflows such as HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, or CCPA compliance in professional contexts.
For school IT
If Chrome extensions are managed by your school, board, district, or organization, share the school IT approval information with your IT contact.
